recordings made during the annual procession of the Congado groups in the ancient town of Ouro Preto, led by the local 'guarda' Congado Reinado de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, an afro-catholic Brazilian tradition encountered mostly in the states of Minas Gerais & São Paulo and mixing African type of drumming and chants to the Saints in a very syncretic type of street ritual
